I have heard so much about Seville, Spain from some of my friends a while back. They told me it is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Spain. Seville is the largest city of the Andalusia Province. Throughout its history it has been under different rulings. Until today you can still see the Moorish and Roman influences.
I’m glad to be able to visit this city even just for one day. My friends were right, it is definitely one of the most beautiful places I have seen in Spain.
Here are some things to see when you visit Seville:
1. Plaza de Espana
Plaza de Espana reminds me of a Renaissance Spanish architecture palace. It is grand and luxurious. The tiles decoration have a very vibrant and colorful designs. I must admit that this is the ‘must-see’ place to visit in Seville.
2. Alcazar of Seville
The Alcazar of Seville is a palace that was originally a Moorish fort. In 1987, it was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
3. Seville Cathedral
The Seville Cathedral or Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See is considered as the largest Gothic church in the world. It was also declared as a UNESCO site in 1987.
The Giralda is a bell tower that used to be a minaret (tower part of a mosque). The tower is about 104 meters high. It has also been included on the UNESCO world heritage sites in 1987.
