Could Bellagio be the prettiest town in all of Lake Como, Italy? In my eyes, I would say yes. However, as they say, beauty (or prettiness) is in the eyes of the beholder. Bellagio has also been called the ‘Pearl of the Lake’. It is situated at the intersection of Lake Como where it divides the lake’s two arms. And from the northern part you can see the Alps.
What makes this town pretty?
Aside from the picturesque view of Lake Como, the town itself has a very colorful and well-adorned buildings. As soon as I got out of the ferry, there were fresh flowers, quaint steps and fancy shops, I felt as if I was in wonderland.
Among the small towns in Lake Como, I must say that Bellagio is my favorite. Maybe because of the fancy boutiques and cute little shops they have. But it is definitely a place to check out when you visit Lake Como.
Tips: I would say give yourself about 4 hours to enjoy this town. There are tons of wonderful shops to buy from. I got a luxury silk scarf (very similar to Hermes) for only 35 Euros.
