For those who love chocolate, this is a museum that you surely would not want to miss – The Cailler Chocolate Museum in Switzerland. I went to this museum with my family, since we all love chocolate it was definitely a place for us.
Cailler chocolate started in the year 1796 founded by Francois Louis Cailler. And in 1929, it became a part of the NESTLE group. Recently, in the year 2010 the Maison Cailler (Cailler Chocolate Museum) was open for the public to learn about its history and wonderful chocolates.
When we visited the museum, it was very busy. We had to wait about 1 hour, we opted for the English tour (they have other languages available as well). Inside the museum they also have a cinema, store and cafe. We watched a couple of the mini films and shopped around the store while waiting for our tour.
The tour lasted for about 1 hour. We learned about the history of chocolate, the Cailler brand, and the production of chocolate. My most favorite part of the tour was the buffet-style chocolate tasting at the end of the tour.
