Flashback: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando

While going through my old brochures today, I found a brochure from my previous trip in Paris – the Warner Brothers studio tour in London.  This is where they filmed Harry Potter for nearly a decade and they recently opened the studio on March 31, 2012.  Website for more info (here).  However, I did visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando Summer of last year and it was quite fun too.  Here are my photos from last year’s visit –  Harry Potter at Universal Studios:

The Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, this is the main attraction at the Harry Potter Universal’s Islands of Adventure.  As you get in to the castle, there are lots of decorations that you will recognize from the books/movies that are displayed.  At the end of the tour, it will be a theme park ride – it’s quite hard to explain but the ride had dragons, flying brooms, and Hermoine, Harry and Ron are explaining what’s going on while you’re in the theme park ride.    Be prepared to wait hours in line for this ride – I think we waited about two hours to get into the castle.

Inside photo at the Hogwart’s cast, the Sorting hat.  The Sorting hat is a magical artifact from Hogwarts that determines to which four houses each new student will be assigned.  According to Harry, it also take into consideration your choice of house.

Every Flavour Jelly Beans!

And the best part, the ButterBeer drink.  I got the slushie, it tasted exactly like what the book says – buttery flavor.  It reminds me somewhat of a root beer float.
