The first documented mention of the castle was in the early 1200’s and through out the years – fires, wars, lightening has destroyed some of its parts.
To get to the castle, there is a small train (Bergbahnen) that takes you up to the castle. It cost around 6 Euros. The entry is free to visit the outside castle. However, there are admission fees for the courtyard, giant barrel, apothecary museum and guided tours.
