Hello Kitty High Tea Set

The Hello Kitty High Tea Set

A while back maybe earlier this year or so, I have read somewhere online that there was a Hello Kitty High Tea somewhere in the Hague, Netherlands.  And finally when I had the time to visit the Hague, the first place on my list was the Set Genki restaurant.  The Set Genki restaurant is a Japanese restaurant that serves different variety of meal sets and menus.  And one of their special sets is the Hello Kitty High Tea.

The restaurant has a dark wood interior that has a very natural ambiance which reminds me a bit of the old Japan era.

I read on the Set Genki website that they require you to have a reservation for the Hello Kitty High Tea before arriving (or you will have to wait for at least 30 minutes) and a minimum of 2 people.  So, on the day of my arrival to the Hague, I called at 12:30 p.m. to make a reservation for 2:30 p.m.  And the staffs at the restaurant speak English.

There were 3 teas to choose from – green, jasmine, and pickwick tea.  We got the jasmine tea.

My verdict on the food:  Starting at the bottom going all the way to the top of the tiered plates – the sushi/toast sandwich.  The sushi was good, and the toast sandwich was tasteless (could not even taste the cheese) but it was still cute.  The middle tier:  The cream puffs were OK (I can do without them), but the Hello Kitty cheesecakes were so delicious, I would order the High Tea just for these.  It taste more like a mousse cake to me than a cheese cake actually.  And the top tier:  The Hello Kitty cookies were good especially with the tea, and the chocolates were too sweet (and they kind of remind me of Crunch chocolate), they were crunchy.

During the weekdays the price per person is 13.99 euros, and weekends is 15.99 euros (the only time we can go was the weekend so we paid a bit more).

So, if you’re around the Hague and are looking for something cute to munch, you should definitely try out this Hello Kitty High Tea set from Set Genki.

Adorable! I would love to order it, even though it does sound like the food is just so so, it’s still the experience I think. I’m not even a huge Hello Kitty fan, but that teapot is just to cute to pass up!
