Jeanneke Pis – girl version of the Manneken Pis statue

Aside from the peeing boy statue – Manneken Pis, another quirky statue found in Brussels is the Jeanneke Pis.  This ‘girl’ version of the Manneken Pis was built in 1987, which was very recent compared to the Manneken Pis that was built 1619 (however, since this statue is frequently stolen a replica is in place at the corner of Rue l’Etuve and Rue des Grands Carmes).

The Jeanneke Pis is located on the east side of Impasse de la Fidelite.  It is right across from the Delirium cafe bar (blue and pink elephant bar).  It is quite hard to find the statue since it is gated (red iron gates).

So, if you have seen the Manneken Pis, might as well check this other modern fountain as well.  Apparently, there’s a dog version too.
