A bit of information about the country: Monaco is a small country on the French Riviera bordered by France.  This country has the second smallest dense population in the world (the first is Vatican).  The most famous area on this country is of course, Monte Carlo.  Monte Carlo is known for its events like the Formula One Grand Prix, and famous casino the Monte Carlo Casino.  There are tons of movies that were filmed in Monte Carlo, the most popular are the James Bond films.

It’s no doubt a very tempting place to visit in Europe because of its glamorous and ritzy label.

This past autumn, we drove all the way down to Monaco (from Germany) to see the famous Monte Carlo.  The drive can take about 11 – 14 hours depending on traffic and rest breaks.  As soon as we arrived we parked at one of the Monte Carlo hotels facing the bay.  I was impressed to see the numbers of luxury yachts parked on the bay with very posh and lavish designs (even have pools inside!).

After taking some photos around the bay, we headed to look for the famous Monte Carlo Casino.  It was about 5-10 minute walk to get there.  When we got there I noticed fancy cars (like Ferraris, Porsches, Bentleys, etc.) parked at the front of the casino.  However, I was a bit disappointed when I entered the casino, it was lifeless and unexciting.  There was no dress code, a few gambling tables, and pretty much expensive everything (well, it’s Monte Carlo).  The architecture of the casino reminds me of the old Baroque designs with elegant moldings.  To me, it was fun just being able to see the iconic casino.
