The Sanrio Hello Kitty House Bangkok is a one of a kind place that features a cafe-restaurant, shop and a spa, all filled with Hello Kitty cuteness. This ‘house’ was recently opened sometime in August 2014 at the Siam Square One Building. The Hello Kitty House is quite huge compared to other Hello Kitty themed places, there are 3 floors and 3 sections at this place. The three sections (previously mentioned) are the cafe, shop and spa. I’m going to write the post in 3 different sections to make it much easier to follow.
The 3 sections in Hello Kitty House:
1 – Cafe
The first place I saw was the Hello Kitty House Cafe. I visited the Hello Kitty House on a Wednesday around lunch time and it was quite busy especially the cafe section. There was a 20 minute wait, and I noticed that there were seats outside for those waiting. So, after 20 minutes, the attendant called my number and I went inside the cafe. The cafe has two levels, all of which is decorated in ‘elegant’ Hello Kitty theme – very pink and fancy. When you get inside the cafe, there’s a counter to the left where you can order the different drinks and food. Many of them are of course, all Hello Kitty themed. I got the green tea cake and cafe latte. They tasted good, but I would say pricey (about $4USD for latte, $5 for cake) especially in Thailand. You can also order food for take-out at the counter outside as well.
Overall, the atmosphere, staff and food here are excellent. I would say (for now) the best Hello Kitty cafe food I have tasted.
2 – Shop
The Shop is located at the basement floor of the building. As soon as you enter, you will see a pink vintage Volkswagen beetle car with the Sanrio Hello Kitty House logo – you can actually go inside too. The shop sells different Hello Kitty things, and specialty items only available at the Sanrio Hello Kitty House – like the teas, shirts, and many others. There’s also a Hello Kitty House ‘card program’ in which you register and become a member. It comes in 3 categories – Live, Laugh and Love.
I ended up buying one of the Hello Kitty House specialty shirts – it has a simple Hello Kitty face design in white. It was about $12USD.
3 – Spa
The Spa is located at the basement floor as well (next to the shop). The Spa offers different beauty treatments, massages and nail services. I didn’t get a chance to try out the spa so I can’t really do a full review. However, the place looks very clean, well maintained and very cute!
When you’re in Bangkok, definitely visit the Hello Kitty House! The mall is right across from Siam Paragon, about 5 minutes walk. It’s a bit pricey, but its really cute and a nice place to relax.
