Souvenirs from around the world: Tarsier and carabao figurine from Bohol, Philippines

Tarsier and carabao

During my last trip in the Philippines, I visited the city of Bohol in the Visayas region.  I booked a resort excursion which included a trip to the Tarsier wildlife sanctuary.  I was fortunate to see them before the typhoon hit this part of the country last year.  Tarsiers are  considered as one of the smallest primates in the world.  The only weight about 150 grams.  At the souvenir shop nearby, I bought this cute little tarsier riding a carabao figurine (Carabao is a type of a buffalo).  The tarsier is made from plush material while the carabao is made from glass.  There’s a mini green scarf on the tarsier with words printed ‘I <3 (love) the Philippines’.

Have you seen tarsiers before?
