Last Saturday I went to visit Dusseldorf to check out the Japanese restaurants and bookstores (Dusseldorf has the largest Japanese community in Germany). And to see this cute cafe – Toykio Dusseldorf Cafe. This cafe is also a gallery and a toy shop – they sell kid robots, munny and other figurines. They also sell art prints – lots of urban art scene, pop surrealism and photos.
The pop art theme of this cafe drew me to go inside and check it out. When I was wandering around the cafe, I saw lots of the customers drinking from this jar looking mug – and I must admit it looked quite cool. So, I decided to stay and get myself a drink as well. Pretty much you pick from their selection of drinks which include teas and lemonades, then the cashier will place the drink in this jar mug. I got the red tea which cost 3 euros and I got a raspberry macaron too! I have to say that their raspberry macaron is up to par with Laduree French macarons, yes it’s that good.
So, if you’re into arts and would like to take a break while your in Dusseldorf, I highly recommend this place.
