One of the cities we visited during our South East Asia trip was Bangkok. When I was young, I remembered hearing about Bangkok from my aunt who visited there several times because she love the shopping places. And when I visited Bangkok, just this past year, I realized Bangkok is indeed a shoppers paradise. There are so many places to shop around this city – malls, markets, etc. And most of the time the prices are cheap.
We were there for four days, the two days in between were our tour days. We booked a tour during our trip for 1 day, and the other day was saved for shopping/spa day. The first and last days were our travel days.
Here are some of the travel highlights:
Where we stayed:
We stayed at the LiT Bangkok hotel. This hotel is located right across the MBK mall, which was very convenient since the mall has tons of shops and restaurants as well. Also, the hotel room was very modern and fancy. I really liked the design. And the staffs were friendly and very helpful too.
What we did:
My family and I booked a tour guide. And we visited famous locations like – Golden Buddha, Temple of Dawn, Grand Palace, and many others. We also went to Siam Paragon, Siam Square One, Hello Kitty cafe, and went to spas as well.
What we ate:
Most of the time, we ate different Thai curries. We had yellow, green, red curry. And our favorite dessert was of course, the mango with sticky rice.
I’m really impressed with Bangkok, there’s so much things to do and see. And many things are affordable. Also, the people are very friendly and it’s easy to get around the city. It’s definitely on my to-visit again destinations.
