Travel Highlights: Ginza, Tsukiji, Akihabara, and Roppongi

Travel Highlights Tokyo

On the second day of our trip to Tokyo, the mr. and I decided to see Ginza, Tsukiji, Akihabara and Roppongi.  Lots of places to see in just 1 day, since we only had less than a week to see Tokyo.  Our first stop was Ginza.

Ginza:

When we arrived in Ginza, I wanted to see the Nishi Ginza mall since it houses a Sanrio store which has the largest selection of Sanrio products in the world.  And it also has a Questina – a Hello Kitty floral shop.  Afterwards we walked about 15 minutes heading to Tsukiji Market.

Tsukiji:

Tsukiji is famous for their fish auctions.  When we got there it was almost lunch time, we didn’t get a chance to see the auctions since it happened early in the morning (like 5 a.m.).  We decided to grab a lunch at one of the sushi restaurants, and we had sashimi and different types of sushi.

Akihabara:

When we got to Akihabara, it was very windy, fortunately the first place we wanted to see was the UDX building which was indoors.  This building has an information center and map around Akihabara.

Roppongi:

We got to Roppongi about 5:30 in the afternoon, and it was getting a bit dark already.  When we saw the Mori tower, we decided to go for a visit and check out their museum and Tokyo city view.

During our visit, they had a Doll Culture Exhibition.  And when it was later on the evening, we went up the rooftop, and looked at the amazing views of Tokyo.
